TerraSlate Inc. manufactures, prints and designs waterproof paper substrates for a wide array of industries around the world.  Our innovative, waterproof paper and printing solutions meet the demands of customers in almost every market segment while our team consistently works to exceed customer expectations in each client interaction.

As the world’s leading provider of  waterproof and rip-proof paper and printing services, TerraSlate has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in the United States as a member of the 2024 Inc. 5000.

How Did We Get Here?

Kyle Ewing, founder and CEO of TerraSlate, started the business in 2014 with the idea that students traveling abroad needed a durable backup copy of their passports when traveling.  He spent months with a team of chemical engineers researching and developing solutions for a paper stock that was waterproof, rip-proof, that also hold toner when printed.  He spent months calling manufacturers and eventually connected with a company who had the capability to turn his idea into a product.  Then he created a product called SOS Worldpass which was a backup copy of a passport printed on his newly created waterproof, rip-proof, and virtually indestructible paper.

The problem Kyle ran into was the market for the product did not exist.  While Kyle was struggling to make the company a success, he received a call from a customer who had purchased four copies of the SOS Worldpass for his daughters.  The customer asked to purchase a piece of the waterproof paper rather than a backup copy of a passport.  At that point, Kyle had an epiphany that the product he was selling was waterproof paper and printing services rather than just backup copies of passports.  Since that moment the company has expanded it services into selling printed restaurant menus, maps, field manuals, nautical charts, and selling blank paper.

G7 Certified Print Facility:

At TerraSlate, our mission has always been to deliver durable, high-quality printing solutions that our customers can rely on in any condition. Today, we’re excited to share a new milestone in our journey—TerraSlate is now G7 certified!

What is G7 Certification and Why is it Important?

G7 certification is a globally recognized standard for color consistency and accuracy. This certification is more than just a badge; it’s an assurance that our printing process is held to the highest standards of precision in color matching, across different printers, materials, and production runs. G7 compliance means TerraSlate’s products now adhere to strict guidelines ensuring that colors appear exactly as intended—whether you’re ordering a single product or a high-volume batch.

Why This Certification Matters to Our Customers

  1. Consistent, Vibrant Quality Across All Prints
G7 certification assures that our customers can count on unmatched color precision every time they order. This is crucial for restaurants and businesses relying on TerraSlate’s waterproof menus and outdoor signage, where consistency isn’t just a preference—it’s a requirement.

  2. Sustainability Through Efficiency
By refining our color management processes to align with G7 standards, we’re able to reduce waste by minimizing color inaccuracies. This improvement not only saves resources but also enhances our commitment to sustainability by creating less waste and ensuring that our customers receive perfectly accurate prints right from the start.

  3. Confidence in Global Quality Standards
Achieving G7 certification places TerraSlate in a prestigious category of print companies that adhere to the same quality standards trusted worldwide. This means our customers can be confident that they’re receiving products manufactured to an internationally recognized benchmark.

What’s Next?

As we continue to grow and evolve, this certification empowers us to better serve our customers and deliver products that exceed expectations in quality and consistency.
