La Plata Peak
There are three different routes you can choose between to summit La Plata Peak, the 34th highest peak in North America. One begins on the southern tip of the peak near Winfield, another from the north tip of the peak, and the last on the eastern tip of the peak. Each route is moderately difficult, two routes rated at a Class 2 difficulty and the last at a Class 3. If you’re looking for a good challenge, this seven to nine mile hike may be the perfect 14er for you to complete.
